Samantha Niesen

Samantha Nielson
Samantha Niesen has spent her entire career in Criminal Law. She draws from a wealth of experience to implement a holistic approach for her clients’ criminal defense cases at Watson Law. She began her practice as a public defender in rural Washington State, representing clients in both misdemeanor and felony matters. She continued her career in criminal defense at the Billings and Bozeman public defender offices.

In 2018, Samantha joined the Bozeman City Attorney’s office and prosecuted misdemeanor cases for the City of Bozeman. As a prosecutor, Samantha recognized the power of the role she played in the criminal justice system and always worked in the pursuit of justice. During that time, she developed strong relationships with other prosecuting agencies and law enforcement.

Having graduated Cum Laude from Gonzaga University School of Law, Samantha has a deep understanding of the criminal justice system. She pairs her academic successes with her ability to review a case with the insights gained from her experiences as a prosecutor. Furthermore, she completed her externship during law school with The Federal Defenders of Eastern Washington and Idaho, where she was exposed to major federal crimes and learned from some of the best criminal defense attorneys in the state.

Samantha’s well-rounded experience puts her in a position to negotiate the best possible results for clients. She has handled hundreds of criminal cases and always strives to achieve a client’s desired outcome. She takes the time to learn about her clients and their needs so she and the Watson Law team can develop an individualized defense plan designed to achieve a successful outcome.

When not working, Samantha spends time with her husband, daughter, and their dog. She is an avid traveler and enjoys exploring the culture and food of new places.
